Candy Box is an ASCII-themed idle-game by French developer aniwey (who can be contacted at On a page made by aniwey, it was confirmed that a sequel to Candy Box was under development. [1] This was later successfully released.

People start out by either eating candy (which increases health) or throwing candy on the ground. Soon enough, a candy merchant comes, and the people can buy swords and lollipops! Buying swords starts the quests. People have to keep on gaining more health and buying better swords, meanwhile increasing their lollipops for later merchandise. At the end, they have to defeat the "Developer" at his own computer, gaining the computer and thus beating the game.

Renaud Bédard, who played a large role in the popular indie game Fez, listed Candy Box as one of his current favorite games.[2]
